On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told call records and data obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another recorded message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "What if there is a small chance that I'm her? What happens next? Is that not crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I just want to discover," the message continued.

The panel was advised that through electronic messages, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with the police force who collated the data, advised the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with close associates of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On that date, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will continue and I will prove my position."

The court heard the co-defendant established a association via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the time before the trip to that location, the county, in December 2024.

The court was told correspondence between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning attempting to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their residence, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which stated: "We are positioned adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our lights out similar to investigators. I wanted to do this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The proceedings proceeds.
